Bing Sun
Bing Sun | Chief Financial Officer

Bing Sun is the Chief Financial Officer of A123 Systems. He is based in A123’s Hangzhou facility and responsible for all Finance and Accounting activities globally.

Bing brings with him over 20 years of finance and accounting experience with both U.S. and Chinese companies, including multinational organizations. he has worked at a variety of manufacturing companies such as BCD Semiconductor and Dago New Energy as well as accounting service companies like Deloitte & Touche in the U.S. and China.

bet356平台Having earned his undergraduate degree at Zhejiang University, Bing went on to earn his M.B.A. from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and finished within the top 10% of his class.

Jim Paye
Jim Paye | Acting Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President for Systems Engineering

bet356平台Jim Paye is the Acting Chief Technology Officer & Sr. Vice President for Systems Engineering at A123 Systems. He oversees all cell technology development at A123 in his acting CTO role and is responsible for all pack systems engineering globally.

Jim came to A123 with over 25 years of experience in automotive safety electronics from the Takata Corporation as VP of Global Electronics. In this role he was responsible for all aspects of product development from concept inception through production including product strategy, design, program management and quality.

Jim earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical and computer engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit and is located at A123’s Michigan headquarters.

Sam Trinch
Sam Trinch | Chief Commercial Officer & Executive Vice President of Customer Engagement

Sam Trinch is Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President of Customer Engagement at A123 Systems where he leads global sales and key account management, new business development, A123’s motorsports business unit, and A123 Systems GmbH. In 2014, Sam was based in Hangzhou, China acting as the Interim President of China leading the integration of Wanxiang’s existing Li-Ion battery business under A123.

Prior to joining A123 in 2009, Sam spent 17 years in automotive semiconductor and component sales and business unit leadership at Motorola Semiconductor (NXP), NEC Electronics (Renesas), and Lear Corporation, last holding the position of Vice President of Global Electronics Sales.

Mr. Trinch holds dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University.

William Zhao
William Zhao | Executive Vice President of Operations

William Zhao is the Executive Vice President of Operations at A123 and is located in Hangzhou, China. He has global responsibility for all operations and advanced manufacturing and engineering activities.

William has over 24 years of manufacturing and engineering experience with him from companies such as Ingersoll-Rand, Emerson Electric, and Samsun Electronics. Prior to joining A123, he served as the Vice President of Operations and Integrated Supply Chain at Ingersoll-Rand and achieved this position after over 10 years of service in varying roles of increasing responsibility. He has many years of experience in high level operations, supply chain, engineering and project management within the Asia Pacific and Indian markets.

William holds a Bachelor’s of Engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology and a Masters from Fudan University in Business Administration, Management and Operations.

Susan Butler
Susan Butler | Vice President of Program Management

Susan Butler serves as the Vice President of Program Management and Program Management Office (PMO) where she leads a high performing team of individuals responsible for product and system design and development of automotive battery management systems (BMS).

bet356平台Susan came to A123 from Gentherm where she spent four years as the Executive Director of Global Program Management and Program Management Office (PMO).  Previous experience was at Harman International Industries where Susan performed various roles with increasing responsibility. She has many years of experience as a technical leader and expertise in automotive product, process, system design and development.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University graduating in the top 1% of her class. She was the first to become certified as a Project Management Professional at Harman International Industries in 2003 setting the standard for Project Management.
